AEON issues 745,000 credit cards till late May and bad debts rate gains balance

Lai Yuk Kwong, director of AEON Credit Service (Asia) (0900), said although the number of personal bankruptcy was increasing in recent years, the bad debt rate of the company in the first quarter this year was 4.5%, similar to that of last year. 

The company had issued about 745,000 credit cards by the end of late May and it expected the number could reach 823,000 till late February next year, said Mr Lai, adding the current using rate of the credit cards of the company was about 40%.
