Parent of China Unicom to increase CDMA capacity

Wang Jianzhou, Executive Director of China Unicom (0762), said the first stage of the auction of CDMA project of parent has been finalized. Because of severe competitions, the network capacityis increased from 13 million users to 15.15 million users without increasing capital cost. The first batch of capital expense is estimated at RMB12.1bln and the total capital cost will be RMB20bln. The launch of the service is expected in early next year. But the charge package has been determined yet.
