Microsoft escaping from breakup stirs US stocks; Dow, Nasdaq up 131 pts and 50pt
On the following day after the announcement made by Fed to reduce the rate cut by 0.25%, the US stocks staged a strong rally. The positive news that Microsoft evaded the breakup crisis also pushed the US stocks up to 10646 pts. However, the market underwent profit-taking in the afternoon session after the good news had been digested gradually. Dow Jones Industrial Average Index rebounded 131.37 pts, or 1.26% to close at 10566.21 pts, while tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 50.72 pts, or 2.44% to finish at 2125.46 pts, off a peak of 2157
