United Airways and US Airways may stop merger

United Airways and US Airways said in a joint statement yesterday that they would stop the merger talks between the two sides. The failure of merger, according to market source, was caused by the divergence on terms. The news posed little effect on the market since the market held no confidence on the antitrust institution approval of the merger application. 

United Airways may lose its global leading position to AMR once the merger fails.
