Cathay Pacific to abandon Dragon Air to return to mainland markets

Cathay Pacific Airways (0293) may consider giving up shareholdings in Dragon Air in order to return to the mainland markets, Sin Tao Daily reported. The report said that the Chinese authority considered permitting Cathay Pacific to return to mainland markets, for the airways would forge long-term cooperation with its mainland peers after China¡¦s WTO entry, pointing out that Cathay Pacific is expected to reopen the airline from Hong Kong to Beijing at the year-end.
