Guangzhou Daily to get listed by A-shares issue

Jiang Tao, editor-in-chief assistant with Guangzhou Daily, revealed that Guangzhou Daily planned to go public at A-shares market and would become the first domestic newspaper media listed company if the move proves successful. China prohibits newspapers to get listed at present. According to Jiang Tao, Guangzhou Daily reaped a net profit of RMB460 mln in 2000 and had a bank loan of RMB3 bln and hopes to expand domestic marketing network and overseas markets through listing.
