Alcatel to lay off another 2500 US employees

Alcatel, the largest French telecom equipment provider, announced to lay off another 2500 US employees to further cut down cost. Corning, a light-guide fiber equipment provider, also announced to cut off 1000 jobs and Lucent, an US light-guide fiber equipment provider, was rumored to trim off another 5000 jobs later. It is predicted that another job-cut storm in telecom is coming.
