Standard & Chartered not to downgrade HK increase forecast for industrial action

The chief economist of Standard & Chartered said after a meal that the economy of the USA would upturn in the next half of the year, but he believed the speed would not be so fast, for the recovery of economy in Asian-Pacific Area was much slower, which was expected to take about half to one year. He also expected that the economy of Hong Kong in the next half of the year would maintain low increase and upturn gradually. Meanwhile, standard & Chartered maintained the increase forecast of HK annual economy to be 3% and did not adjust it for the strike movement of Cathay Pacific Airways.
