US stocks plunge to 3-month low level; Dow and Nasdaq shed 123.76 and 63.92

US stocks plummeted to the 3-month low level last night. Affected by the announcement made by Corning that some plants would be closed down and the news of employee lay-off and earnings warnings, investors showed concern over the corporate earnings, which dampened the buying sentiment. Dow Jones Industrial Average Index ended down 123.76 pts, or 1.2% to 10175.64 pts, while tech-heavy Nasdaq dipped through the gateway of 2000 pts and eroded 63.92 pts, or 3.15%
