Supply of China merchandizes still exceeds demand

Huang Hai, chief of the trade & market bureau of the State Economic and Trade Commission, said although total retail turnover of social commodities reached HK$1500.63bln in the first five months, up 10.3% year-on-year, the situation that supply exceeds demand was unchanged yet and the gap between cities and villages further widened. On July 15, Huang said the merchandizes market is much better than expectation. But with consumption growing in cities, it was decreasing in countries, which indicates that the development of merchandizes market lacks stamina.
