Greenspan comments drag broad market down; Dow, Nasdaq down 36 pts and 2.5%
Adversely affected by the warnings from US Fed Chairman Greenspan that the US economy has not yet stepped out of recession and the earnings warnings released by some big names, the broad market was dragged down, with technology sector undergoing serious pressure. Fortunately, the buying in the late session narrowed the loss. Dow Jones Industrial Average once shed 126 pts and finally closed at 10569.83 pts, down 36.56 pts, or 0.34%. Nasdaq cast off 51.
