Merrill Lynch downgrades Intel profit forecast

Merrill Lynch downgraded the profit forecasts of Intel, the biggest wafer manufacturer in the world in 2001 and 2002, for Intel faced the price challenges and its mid-term profit was pressed. Merrill Lynch downgraded the profit forecast of Intel this year from 56 cents per share to 53 cents per share and downgraded its profit forecast next year from 79 cents per share to 74 cents per share. Meanwhile, the fund house also set the mid-term investment rating of the company at ˇ§neutralˇ¨.
