Japan Prime Minister advocates structural reform

Japan Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi reiterated that he strongly adhered to structural reform and said that he would not activate the economic growth by expanding governmental expense. According to Junichiro Koizumi, some hope that the government would take financial measures to stimulate the economy, which, though feasible, would just be a temporary measure and impair the reform decision in the country. He said that the long-term economic growth can be sustained only by structural reform. He added that the Japan economy will revive if the whole country supports the reform, pointing out that the reform campaign will be carried out after the completion of the Senate election.
