George Bush: dollar allowed to decide exchange rate freely

US president George W. Bush reiterated that the dollar should be allowed to float freely on the market which would decide the exchange rate of dollar. Bush pointed out that although some persons hope that dollar turns weak and ask the government to intervene, control of the dollar exchange rate is not the role that the government should play. US Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill also stressed that the strong dollar meets national interest and the dollar exchange rate is not so high.
