G8 expects US economy to be on rising tendency in long term

G8 held meetings in Italy on the weekend, pointing out that although the US economy slowed down broadly, its long-term tendency was still quite good, for the USA strongly supported its economy revival through the hard-currency policies and financial policies. G8 also expected that the global economy would increase about 3% to 4% this year. Furthermore, US Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill reiterated he was not for the opinion that the USA economy was sliding and on the contrary, he expected the US economy would rebound at the end of this year. Moreover, he expected more that 3% substantial increase would be seen in 2002.
