Salomon expects Hutchison Whampoa to make provision for no more than HK$20bln

Hutchison Whampoa (0013) will decide the amount for provision of Vodafone at board meeting on Aug 23. Salomon Smith Barney said share price of Vodafone created new low at 141.25 penny last week. Based on par value of Vodafone held by Hutchison Whampoa, the provision will be no more than HK$20bln. However, Salomon Smith Barney still maintained investment rating of Hutchison Whampoa as ˇ§leading the marketˇ¨ at target price of HK$88.2.
