Comcast not to lift price for acquiring AT & T broadband business
John Alchin, CFO of Comcast, the third-biggest cable TV group in the USA, said Comcast would not increase the proposed acquisition price of US$52.4 bln for acquiring the cable TV networks of AT & T unless there were other companies joining in the bidding. AT & T claimed last week that the proposed price by Comcast was too low and it refused to have talks over the dealing. Some market persons expected that AT & T might sell the business or spin it off for listing.
