Amazon records loss of US$168m in Q2

Amazon.com released the Q2 earnings and announced that the losses were narrowed to US$168.4 mln and per share loss hit 47 US cents, better than market expectation. The company suffered a loss of US$317.2 mln last year with per share loss of 91 US cents. The turnover in the Q2 reached US$668 mln, up 16% from the same period last year and down 4.5% over the first quarter. Amazon ended down 95 US cents, or 5.59% to US$16.03 and shed another US$1, or 6.23% to close at US$15.03 in the electronic after-hours dealings.
