Salomon doubts if Vtech can turn loss into profit in 2002

Although Vtech Holdings (0303) management said to Salomon Smith Barney analysts that the company is expected to turn loss into profit in 2002 after the restructuring of core business, Salomon Smith Barney still doubted if it can reach the target and maintained its investment rating at ˇ§lag the marketˇ¨. The fund house pointed out that some questions such as the slowing growth in core business products, declining gross profit and lack of funds to expand new markets remain unsolved even though the company can successfully restructure businesses.
