Merrill Lynch upgrades Mcdonald・s investment rating
Merrill Lynch upgraded the ratings of Dow Jones constitute stocks and thus it upgraded the investment rating of Mcdonald・s, the biggest fast food group in the world, from the previous :collect; to :buy;. Moreover, the fund house expected the business of Mcdonald・s in its biggest market, Europe, would be improved in the second half of the year. Merrill Lynch said that since the second-half of last year, several countries in Europe had been harassed by the mad-cow disease and the sales of hamburgers been affected. However, the consumers were expected to regain the confidence in the edible beef and thus led the European business to upturn and stimulate the turnover of Mcdonald・s.
