PCCW rumored to trim working force while the company denies

It was rumored in the web page of the working staff of PCCW (0008) recently that the employer would put out three laying off schemes in stages after August 20. The three schemes are rehiring the working staff with salaries 20-30% discount to the former ones, compellent laying off and resigning willingly, the purpose of which is to trim the working force of different sectors, different annual gains and different positions. However, the spokesperson of PCCW said the company had no laying off plans for the time being, nor did it set the time limit of laying off.
