I-Cable charters satellite channels to develop China mainland market

It was reported the spokesperson of I-Cable Communication (1097) revealed that the company had chartered a satellite from APT Satellite holdings (1045) and was now testing the programs signals, while as the relevant plans were still in the primary stage, the details were not disclosed yet. It was rumored in the market that it was the first step to march into China mainland satellite TV market for I-Cable Communication to charter the satellite channels and to test the signals. However, I-Cable Communication should face the problems of getting the license in China mainland and solving the obstacles of broadcasting language. The spokesperson of I-Cable Communication also said the group had hoped to develop the mainland market all along and it had already applied to the authority for the license.
