Hang Seng Bank to release adjusted data of HK annual economy forecast

The economist of Hang Seng Bank (0011) said the bank was thinking whether to adjust the annual economy forecast of Hong Kong and the results would be released within this week. Hang Seng Bank currently forecasted the economy of Hong Kong would increase 3% this year. He pointed out that Hong Kong economy was still under the control of fringe economy, especially the US economy. In spite of several rate-cuts, the US economy hadn¡¦t seen any sign of rebound and the obscure factors would pose impact over HK enterprises, said he. He also pointed out the US rate-cut and tax-cut did give some help to the local economy, but the problems of investment withering and laying off still worried the people. Whether the consumer confidence would maintain should be given more attention.
