Standard & Poor downgrades Lucent loan rating to BB-

Standard & Poor downgraded the corporate loan and senior non-mortgage debt rating of Lucent from BB+ to BB- again. It is the fourth time that Standard & Poor lowered the rating of Lucent since last December. The fund house also warned that it would further lower Lucent rating. Lucent spokesman said that the downgrade would post no significant impact on the company business and believed that the rating would be uplifted after the performance is improved. Lucent lost 28 US cents, or 4% to close at US$6.7.
