Appealing on GE proposed merger with Honeywell rejected

GE planned to appeal against the EU turning down of the proposed merger with Honeywell, according to reliable sources. The sources pointed out that GE considered appealing to a higher court, not for overturning of the EU Commission decision, but hoping to refute EU Commission claim that GE dominates the jet engine market. The viewpoint, once confirmed, will hurdle GE to make other merger and acquisition moves in the future. GE spokesperson said that the company was still considering it. EU decided on July 3 that it rejected the merger between GE and Honeywell and GE could appeal before September.
