Intel expects computer sector to revive in second half

Intel CEO Craig Barrett said that the worst time for computer industry has been over and the sector is expected to recover in the third and fourth quarters, although whether it could revive depends largely on the economic environment. Craig Barrett also said that the turnover forecast for the third quarter was rather conservative and the company did not intend to downgrade the forecast. Intel CFO Andy Bryant also claimed in July that the PC sales would jump in the second half of this year. Intel gained US$1.36 to close at US$32.11.
