Merrill lowers Nanjing Panda 01 earnings forecast by 18%

Merrill Lynch has reduced its earnings forecast for Nanjing Panda Electronics (0553) by 18 percent to 157 million yuan for 2001 and 11 percent to 182 million yuan for 2002 to reflect the less satisfactory performance of the underlying operations and higher provisions required.
