DJIA down 145; Nasdaq down 50; S&P 500 down 14

The Dow Jones industrial average ended down 145.93, or 1.41%, to 10,174.14 and the Nasdaq Composite index was down 50.05, or 2.66%, to 1831.32. The S&P 500 was down 14.15, or 1.21%, to 1157.26. U.S. stocks ended lower yesterday even the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 25 basis points as expected but followed weakness comments on the U.S. economy, which was somewhat disappointing to investors.
