PCCW H1 net profit 640 mln-1.15 bln hkd

Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd (0008) is expected to report on Thursday a six months to June net profit of 640 mln-1.15 bln hkd, with the results showing that the company still is heavily reliant on its fixed line business. Analysts said the interim results will not be directly comparable with the year earlier performance given that PCCW acquired Cable Wireless HKT in Aug 2000. PCCW reported a net loss of 34.93 mln hkd in the first half of 2000, followed by a net loss of 6.90 bln hkd for the full year.
