Merrill estimates direct transportation links between Taiwan and China to subtra

Merrill Lynch said it now expects that under a worst-case scenario, direct transportation links between Taiwan and China would subtract 0.2 to 0.3 percentage point per year over five years from Hong Kong's GDP growth rate. The securities house had earlier seen direct cross-straits links reducing growth by as much as 0.6 percentage point per year over five years.
