DJIA down 192; Nasdaq down 53; S&P 500 down 25

The major U.S. stock averages fell to four-month lows Thursday. The Dow Jones industrial average closed down 192.43, or 1.92%, to 9840.84 and the Nasdaq Composite index was down 53.37 or 3.03%, to 1705.64. The S&P 500 was down 25.34
