China H1 tourist totals 18.09 million, up 11.9 pct yr-on-yr

Tourist arrivals during the first six months arrived 18.09 mln, up 11.9 pct year-on-year, the official Xinhua news agency reported from Beijing, citing sources at the National Tourism Administration. The number of tourists from foreign countries were said 8.42 mln, up 14.8 pct year-on-year, while the number of tourists from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan reached 5.86 mln, 604,400 and 1.2 mln, respectively, representing increases of 4.9 pct, 10.4 pct and 19.0 pct compared to the same period last year.
