Bank of East Asia 1H scrip div $17.8 per share

Bank of East Asia (0023) said the scrip entitlements under the 2001 interim scrip dividend would be calculated at HK$17.80. BEA declared an interim dividend for the year ending Dec. 31, 2001 of 21 HK cents with a scrip option. The scrip entitlements would be calculated by reference of the average of the closing prices on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd. of the existing shares of the bank from Sept. 3 to Sept. 7 which was HK$17.80, BEA said in an announcement.
