Nikkei breaches 10,000 on Monday morning

Tokyo share prices opened sharply lower Monday morning on concerns of uncertainties of the resumption of trade on U.S. stock markets later in the day. At 0910 JT, The Nikkei 225 Stock Average was down 262.24 points or 2.6% at 9,746.65. The Nikkei 225 Dec futures contract was down 390 at 9,550 on the Osaka Securities Exchange. The Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) dropped 28.54
