HSI up 2.6% at open

The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened higher as blue chips rose across the board after declines in the U.S. markets overnight proved within market expectations. At 10:09 a.m. Hong Kong time, the HSI was up 238.13 points, or 2.56 percent, at 9,557.48. The Growth Enterprise Market Index added 0.80 of a point, or 0.49 percent, to 164.41.
