BEA cuts savings rate to 1 pc

Bank of East Asia (0023) said it will lower its standard savings rate for Hong Kong dollar savings accounts from the previous 1.5 percent to 1 percent per annum, following the US rate cut. The new rates will be effective from Wednesday.
