HSI ends up 2.7%

The benchmark Hang Seng Index ended higher despite overnight declines in U.S. markets. At the day's close, the HSI was up 250.25 points, or 2.69 percent, at 9,558.15. Turnover was HK$6.5 billion, slightly down from yesterday's HK$6.67 billion. The Growth Enterprise Market Index added 1.92 point, or 1.18 percent, to 164.45. Turnover was HK$32.4 million versus yesterday's HK$35.4 million.
