Hong Kong shares close lower on decline of U.S. stocks
Share prices closed lower on a weaker Wall Street, and amid persistent uncertainty about the global economic outlook facing the possible US military reprisals for last week's terrorist attacks. HSBC sink, following weakness in European banking stocks, and tossing financial sector low. The Hang Seng Index closed down 240.17 points at 9,317.98, between a low of 9, 249.16 and a high of 9,415.10, on turnover of 7.06 bln hkd. The Hang Seng September contract last traded at 9,250 points. The Hang Seng China Enterprises index was down 1.49 points at 380.84 and the CAC index fell 7.86 points at 744.89. TraHK was down HKD0.30 at HKD9.45. The GEM index was down 0.60 points at 163.85 on turnover of HKD27.50 mln.
