Yan Lan to raise stake in Sina.com via share swap

Yang Lan, Sun Television Cybernetworks Holdings Ltd. chairperson plans to add up to 16 pct stake in Sina.com to her existing holding via a share swap deal, according to Sun TV executive chairman Wu Zheng, who is Yang's husband. "We are expecting lots of synergy between Sun TV and Sina.com. Sun TV has a good brand name in China, while Sina.com is well known internationally," Wu said. "We have confidence in the joint efforts of Sun TV and Sina.com ... We will no doubt raise the stake in Sina.com to a controlling shareholder status, " Wu said. Yang is swapping a 29 pct stake in Sun TV for 8 mln usd cash and a 10 pct Sina.com stake. She may get an additional 6 pct stake in Sina.com depending on the performance of Sun TV in the next 18 months.
