B-shares down sharply

B shares closed sharply lower on A-share declines and steep falls in the Hong Kong stock market amid generally weak sentiment due to concerns over the outlook for the global economy and fears that the US will soon launch military action in Central Asia. The B-share index closed 3.75 points or 2.49 pct lower at 146.89 after trading between 149.65 and 146.09.
