HSI Up 2% Midday

The benchmark Hang Seng Index was higher at midday, despite the US stocks falling in all five trading days since it reopened after the terrorist attacks. At midday, the HSI was up 165.98 points, or 1.86 percent, at 9,100.18. Turnover was HKD3.55 billion. The Growth Enterprise Market Index, advanced 0.62 point, or 0.38 percent, to 162.97 on turnover of HKD10.6 million.
