Economists predicts that Hong Kongˇ¦s 2001 GDP is likely to be flat at best and possibly down as much as 1 percent as the terrorist attacks in the US and their aftermath brought much uncertainty in global economy. Yesterday, the government reported that total exports in August fell 9.1 percent on year, and re-exports down 7.7 percent while the total exports fell 0.8 percent and re-exports were up 0. 6 percent in July.
