HK govt. likely to have more-than-expected fiscal deficit: Leung

The Hong Kong government is likely to record a more-than-expected deficit for the fiscal year ending March 2002, said Antony Leung, the financial secretary. By the end of July, however, the government had achieved an income of HK$1.6 billion from land sales, and the sale of further Hong Kong stocks and MTRC shares may be dampened by the current depressed stock market, he said.
