HSI close up 2.44% at 9,600.79

Hang Seng Index edged up promoted by property sector on optimism about the results of Sun Hung Kai Properties (0016). Banks and telecoms counters climbed further as sentiment improved. China stocks also ended higher, reversing their morning losses. HSI closed the day up 229.04 points or 2.44 percent at 9,600.79. Turnover was HKD5.9 billion, which is similar to yesterday's HKD5.98 billion. The Growth Enterprise Market Index advanced 1.08 points, or 0.65 percent, to 165.99. Turnover was HKD21.89 million versus yesterday's HKD32.4 million.
