HSI Opens Up in early trading

Hong Kong stocks were slightly higher after resuming trade from a 2-day holiday, but HSBC Holdings (0005) fell on profit-taking after gaining 19 percent last week. Property sector rose after the Fed cut interest rates by a 0.5 percentage point. At 10:16 a.m. local time, the benchmark Hang Seng Index was up 49.73 points or 0.5 percent, at 10,000.43 on turnover of HKD1.38 billion.
