Nikkei-225 plummet 2.09% to 9924.23

Nikkei-225 edged down in the early session and dropped in a wider range to a further low level after the opening in the afternoon. The index breached the 10000 threshold before the closing and finally ended down by 212.33 points or 2.09% to the day low of 9924.23.
