The Securities and Futures Commission announced the suspension of the registration status of former stock exchange council member Irene So as a dealing director and investment adviser for nine months. The market watchdog's move followed an inquiry into the granting of credit facilities by Mansion House Capital Ltd. and Mansion House Securities Ltd. to Irene So's relatives from early 1997 to February 2000. So had served as an elected council member of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong until the entity merged to form the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. (0388).
