Cable TV to raise monthly subscription fee next year

i-Cable Communications (1097) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephen Ng said that the company plans to raise the monthly pay-TV subscription fee of new clients with effect from 1 January, 2002. He did not mention the degree of the increase but he underlined that the existing clients will not be affected. To date, Cable TV has about 550,000 clients and the churn rate became more stable in August and September, 2001. Meanwhile, he did not talk about the client growth because of the broadcasting of The World Cup next year but he stated that the company will be teased if there are fewer than 600,000 clients at that time.
