HKAB Chairman suggests delaying DIS

Peter Wong, Chairman of Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB), said in an interview with the Apple Daily that members of the HKAB have studied the discussion paper on the deposit insurance scheme (DIS). He thought that DIS should be delayed if the savings deposit rate remains at the present level by the end of 2002. He believed that more talks will be held by the Government
