Hong Kong total retail sales in August fell 0.9 percent to HK$15.2B
The value of Hong Kong total retail sales in August 2001 fell 0.9 percent to HK$15.2 billion, from a year earlier, according to the provisional figures released by the Census and Statistics Department. After discounting the effect of price changes over the period, the overall volume of retail sales had a modest growth of 1.7 percent over a year earlier. This followed a 1.3 percent growth in retail sales volume in July.
